Some properties have been structured to operate under a Fractional Ownership model (Timeshare or Shared Ownership). With a Timeshare a fixed week can be purchased and with Shared Ownership an owner gets usage of their unit on a rotation schedule.
For example:
Horstman House, Legends and Evolution have a Quarter Share structure, so owners of those units get to use their unit once every four weeks on a four year rotation.
Fairmont Heritage Place At Nature's Door is a 1/10th ownership model, where owners get two weeks in the winter, and two in the summer with one flex week. Owners pick their usage on a rotating basis. Each 10th ownership interest is referred to as a 'chapter' or 'fraction'.
Seasons is a 12th share property where owners get four weeks of usage per year (one week per season).
When not being used for personal use an owner may rent their time through the buildings property management company. Or in some cases trade their weeks if they opt into a vacation club program.
Partial ownership is a great way to own a slice of Whistler with the potential to be a revenue generating investment.
